What is Experiential Education?

Experiential Educators tend to value the process over a "right" answer.  Therefore the answer to what is experiential education may be found in the process of finding a better definition.  The Association for Experiential Educators offers the following definition as a starting point.

Experiential education is a philosophy and methodology in which educators purposefully engage with learners in direct experience and focused reflection in order to increase knowledge, develop skills, and clarify values.
